Organizing observation tours

Tour participants gain an understanding of the current state of the next-generation robot industry and have the opportunity to exchange opinions and interact with local companies.

*Only for tours aimed at matching visitors with companies, research organizations and other bodies.

Arranging sales talks amang robot manufacturers,
robot technology developers, and research organizations.

Through a network of various researchers, research organizations, robot manufacturers, and robotic technology developers, Robot Laboratory provides introductions to connect you with companies or research organizations that meet your needs.

*The following services are provided only in Japanese:

  • Supporting coordination between robotic technology companies and researchers, engineers, service providers, and other parties.
  • A people development service that provides skills and knowhow for establishing new businesses utilizing robotic technology.
  • Support with developing commercial applications of products developed, finding places to conduct necessary demonstration experiments for products, and post-experiment support.
  • Support with press releases for new products, preparing for press conferences, and operational support, etc.

Support with demonstration experiments,
which are vital for the commercialization of robotic technology

Robot Laboratory provides support for preparing and setting up locations for the demonstration experiments that are required for research and development of robots and related technology, development of practical commercial applications, and commercialization.

Examples of demonstration experiments for which we have provided support

Feb 2008 - Asante Incorporated - Building survey/termite-removal robot in temple.

Jan 2010 - Eager, Co., Ltd. - Verification of possibility of next-generation advertising media employing robot motion in commercial facility.

Feb 2010 - Product employing robots and robotic technology at Osaka City Office.

From 2005 to 2010 we have provided support for over 70 demonstration experiments.

Collaboration with an Expansive International Network

Observation tours from overseas organizations

Observation tours from overseas held
April 2008 to March 2009: 16 (3 Asian countries, 1 North American country, and 4 European countries)
April 2009 to March 2010: 17 (3 Asian countries, 1 North American country, and 5 European countries)
We have active exchanges with a variety of regions, providing support for The Technology Collaboration (Pittsburgh) that visited Osaka to observe trends in the local robot industry in March, 2010, and hosting the Danish government's investment department (Invest in Denmark), that met with local firms in April, 2010 seeking collaboration in the field of robotics.

Seminars held in collaboration with overseas organizations and researchers

  • International workshop on creation of robot-related businesses. Jointly sponsored with the British Embassy. (November 2009.)
  • Talk by professors from University of the West of England.
  • Special Robot Talk Session. Workshop held to discuss recent trends in US service robots, profile recent projects, and engage in technical exchanges.
  • Corporate matchmaking and talks by Walt Disney Imagineering and Carnegie Mellon University Quality of Life Technology Center.(December 2009.)
  • 5th ACM/IEEE International Conference on Human Robot Interaction. Jointly sponsored with the HRI Program Committee. (March 2010.)
